Talking Women was set up by Dr Sarah Emmerson and Dr Clare McFie to offer a service specifically for women dealing with the issues that have touched us and the women in our lives. Talking women is a passion project for us, because we realised through our almost 20 years of joint clinical experience in the NHS how little support there is available to women struggling with issues like fertility, perinatal and postnatal anxiety, postnatal depression or trauma, menopause, ageing, and women's health issues and we wanted to provide women with a safe and supportive place to turn to.
We want to be there for you and support you with periods of transition, issues of identity, sexuality and gender, work, and relationships. In our practice we want to create a supportive, non-judgmental and empowering space for women to share their experiences and find the help they need.

We have a lot of experience with different evidence-based models of therapy but the most important thing for us has always been the relationship we get to build with our clients. Being able to help each client with an approach that is right for them and helps them achieve goals that are meaningful to them is what drives us.

We offer in-person and online sessions. Our work is regularly supervised by several independent supervisors.
